Framed digital Print available to buy from London West Bank In West Bourne Grove for £140
The London West Bank is a brand new art gallery in West London’s Westbourne Grove taking up three floors (10,000 sq ft) of a charismatic old bank building which has been disused for many years. The West Bank team are proud to show the world what can be done for the current art scene by converting a disused building in the heart of a busy shopping street into a happening cultural hot-spot.
The story behind the choice of name for the gallery is quite simple: the building used to be a bank and finds itself in “West” London, (whereas Urban Art galleries tend to be found in the “East”). The impressive front entrance to the building boasts beautiful old stained glass windows with the year 1889 and the initials “LWB” which helped to confirm the choice of name: London West Bank.
The aim of this opening night is to show London, its artists and art collectors that the West Bank is a force to be reckoned with.
London West Bank have teamed up with Lisa Loud and friends and are proud to announce that they will be raising funds and awareness on the evening for their chosen charity WAR CHILD.
WAR CHILD is a small international charity that protects children living in the world’s most dangerous war zones. WAR CHILD currently work in IRAQ, AFGHANISTAN, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO and UGANDA.
There will be live-painting in front of guests in the gallery’s private yard facing Chepstow Villas. The three artists performing will be covering the three main areas within the current Urban Art movement: Inkie (Graffiti) Fin DAC (Street-Art) and David Walker (Fine Art). Together, they will be painting outdoors on large canvasses which will be sold during the exhibition, proceeds of which will go to the “War Child” charity.
Some fantastic installations have been built by artists Zeus and Filthy Luca in our outdoor space, including a “Fifth Plinth”, a replica of the “Fourth Plinth” found in Trafalgar Square. All will be revealed on the night.
