I used to eat jacket potatoes with a drizzle of olive oil, not baked beans or ever butter, olive oil, very odd and not very imaginative, thankfully the guys at The Potato Project are here to help, especially if you’re failing at food like I am.

Available on the menu combinations such as Autumn wild mushrooms + spinach + blue cheese & truffle oil, Thai chicken + coconut & lime curry and The naked potato with butter (just encase you’re a fan of the classics) all available on both sweet and your classic jacket potato.

Also available is a side of Sweet potato hummus with pear, Gin & Tonic ice Cream and coffee which, I think, is flirting with me???

Ball pits are no longer for kids alone, now adults can relive their youth by throwing themselves into pools of plastic bubbles without being escorted from the premises. Welcome to BallieBallerson.

Do you live near Balham?

Remember remember…

Lambeth-Brockwell-Park-WEB-credit-Oscar-Rovira1

…The 5th of November, like anybody in the UK could ever forget. Year after year we’re told of the story of Guy Fawkes’s attempt to restore a Catholic Monarch to throne by blowing up half of London, but was caught with a crap ton of gun powder just before lighting the fuse (there were 60 barrels of the stuff, so this was obviously a suicide mission as no one was escaping that), and later died by throwing himself off of the scaffold he was to be hanged drawn and quartered from.

It’s was all downhill after the 80 years war really.

So now we celebrate this foiled terror attack by letting off fireworks and burning Guy Fawkes effigies (what a magical time this is), and to be honest I f***ing love it.

So here are a few bonfires you can check out around the Capital:

‘Roses are red, Poppies are red, The grass is all red, Shit the garden’s on fire!’ that’s as good as my poetry gets and it’s not even mine, I nicked that from Mock the Week*

Thankfully there are real poets and authors who are willing to share their talent with the world (and silence my rubbish), if you’d like to see a few of those talented individuals read their work live then get your backside over to Pop Brixton.

On Wednesday 13th July Max Porter, Colin Grant and Johny Pitts (plus a number of other highly acclaimed acts) will be performing their work to a crowd of spoken word/music lovers, why don’t you join them it’s not a bad way to see out Hump Day.
