Hotchips and Dips

I love crisps (or chips depending on which side of the Atlantic you identify with), you love crisps, everybody loves crisps. Beautiful pieces of potato based kit covered in tasty flavourings, created to elevate that most evil of beasts, the hunger pang.

But don’t you sometimes long for more than salt & vinegar treats?

What about Shetland Black spud chips served with Lemon Tart & Raspberries Pudding Dip, or Highland Burgundy Heritage Potatoes paired with a Baba Ghanoush (a smoky aubergine dip with lemon & garlic) Savoury dip, sound good, then get your backside over to HipChips in Soho.

Available to the adventurous are a number of seasonal heritage potatoes with a selection of savoury & sweet dips, to be paired you see fit.

Machiavelli, Covent Garden

Info used taken from machiavellifood.co.uk

Image used taken from metro.co.uk

Enjoying a bottle of wine in a Tuscan vineyard in the early 90’s became the inspiration of what is now the premier suppliers of imported Italian food in the UK. No one was importing produce this good in the UK, so we began here in London in 1996.

Importing fresh food from Italy to London is our speciality. Machiavelli is a well established, vibrant and innovative company, specialising in importing simply the very best Italian food, direct from Italy. Our dedication lies in quality of the food, the service and our passion in the products themselves. We are proud to distribute Italian Food, produce and ingredients to the top restaurants, delis, stores and hotels in London and nation-wide. Some very famous restaurants are running on our Italian imported food.

We believe the best food is the freshest and it is this philosophy that helps drive our choice of products, arriving twice a week from Italy by refrigerated transport. Specialist artisan foods include fresh handmade pastas from Tuscany, cheeses produced with traditional family recipes from Piedmont, alongside first-pressed olive oils by one of the most prestigious producers in Sicily.

The choice of products available is endless – balsamic vinegars, prosciuttos and salamis as well as mouth-watering antipasti and olives grown in the sun drenched groves of the Mediterranean. Italian Food imported and supplied at its very best.

Many of our products are sourced from the Slow Food Movement and are D.O.P. / I.G.P. (Protected Denomination of Origin / Protected Geographical Origin). D.O.P. ensures that the raw ingredients are sourced locally as well as indicating place of origin, whereas I.G.P. ensures that all production processes conform to specific local traditions.

Big Busk Secret Gig May 24th, Covent Garden

article-2465913-18D2F53300000578-113_634x418_dailymail-co-uk

Just a quickie to point you towards a sort-of-secret gig tonight. Razorlight will play a ‘Big Busk’ gig at 5.30pm today (24 May) in St Martin’s Courtyard, Covent Garden.

Styled as an ‘impromptu gig’ the actually rather promptu affair is to promote a bevy of organisations and causes. The band’s performance is one of several ‘Big Busks’ to mark 20 years since the first Big Issue. They’re also banging the drum for Get Loaded in the Park, an excellent festival on Clapham Common on 12 June, to be headlined by Razorlight. Finally, the busk will do no harm for St Martin’s Courtyard, the new ‘shopping and dining destination’ in Covent Garden.

THE APART LONDON SUMMER SHOW 2011

55-57 Great Marlborough St, London W1F 7JX

“We are very happy to have secured another interesting spot for our summer show this year, namely the old Grant and Cutler premises on Great Marlborough St. Although it will need a bit of TLC to get it up and running as a gallery, it has the potential to be one of the best we have had, with old parquet flooring, plenty of light and high ceilings. The show will run from May 26th to August 20th and will as usual showcase the works of artists from around the world that we love. Hope to see you there.”

Jimmy Carr is one of the recent TV personalities to enjoy the gallery.

Gallery open from May 25th to August 20th
