Shoreditch Valentines Day Pub Crawl

You & your partner have just moved to East London, you don’t know the area very well, the best places to go for a drink or even anybody to drink with, what do you do?

The Shoreditch Pub crawl…for Valentines day, that’s what.

Yes you heard me, The Shoreditch Pub Crawl are doing a Valentines ‘crawl’ for couples, friends and those who want to get out there and meet new people in a ‘non-awkward way’ on Thursday 14th Feb. 

The night starts off at Sink Bar at 8.30pm, everybody with a Pub Crawl ticket gets a free shot at 4 venues and free entry to at least 4 venues throughout the night PLUS discounted drinks at every bar you go too. The next stop after Sink bar is a secret so make sure you get to the meeting point early, enjoy a drink with your fellow travelers and most importantly don’t get left behind.

The Shoreditch Pub Crawl people are giving away a free ticket for the Valentines Day Crawl, all you have to do is follow Pigeon Talks on Instagram then comment ‘#SHOREDITCHPUBCRAWL‘ on posts until 6pm on Sunday 10th February.  The winner will be announced on Monday 11th Feb at 8pm*.

Dinner at home is so dull, eating at restaurants So blah-say , in 2019 we need to do food differently, it’s time for forest nosh.

Enjoy a dinner party in the woodlands of Chalfont & Latimer with a meal prepared in front of you by a trained chef, of which some ingredients you will forage for yourself, short woodland walks to explore and relish the atmosphere and cocktails (or mocktails if that is your preference) to enjoy with your meal

The Lost Lagoon at Shepherd’s Bush

Dry January is coming to an end and what better way to celebrate sobriety than by attending a Secret Rum Lagoon*

From the 1st February Shepherd’s Bush will play host to The Lost Lagoon, a theatrical, multi-sensory cocktail experience aiming to explore all that rum has to offer.  A man-made lake awaits you – by which you can cross by boat – and a myriad of drinks to plunder.

 

If the second month of the year is one that holds no excitement for you then grab your ‘Neo Tiki’ outfit (which is entirely up to you to figure out), a bag full of pieces of eight and head over to West London for a booty-ful (OK I’ll stop) adventure.

Cinema by the Pool

Pools are great but do you know what would make them better, a movie. Imagine laying on a lounger with your drink of choice, relaxing, and then a movie starts adding to your chilled out-ness, great stuff.

This sound good to you? Then you need to head to the Sheraton Skyline Hotel in Hayes. 

Once a month from Jan 2019 you can watch a classic movie, with a complimentary drink and popcorn, while sitting by an indoor pool (nobody wants to by an outdoor pool in the cold) enjoying the scenery. That may help to drive away the winter blues.

Had a hard day at work?

Need to let off some steam?

Guy Fawkes Weekend

It’s that time of year where we celebrate the almost distraction of Parliament again, that point aside if you love fireworks then here are some events you maybe interested in.

 

 

Wembley Park

Enjoy the displays of Bonfire night and the celebrations for Diwali in this joint family event on Sunday 4th Nov. Food stalls & community activities will kick off proceedings from 4pm, 6pm will see a light parade fill the streets of Wembley Park and at 7 pm the fireworks display will begin.

The event is free, organizers have asked that you leave your cars at home and travel to Wembley via local transport.

 

 

Southwark Park

One of the only displays in the Capital to fall on the Nov 5th Southwark Park’s fireworks show will help displace those Monday blues. 

Synchronized to music the display  promises to be one of the best in the last 15 years.

Victoria Park

Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein will be the inspiration behind Victoria Park’s 2018 display, in celebration of the novel’s 200th anniversary the pyrotechnics, soundtrack and visual displays will all pay homage to the Science-Fiction Classic.

The event on Nov 4th will be free for all and starts from 5.30pm, however due to the closures of the Hammersmith & City Line and District Lines over the weekend please leave enough time to account for the travel delays.

Wimbeldon Park

Wimbeldon Park will be housing 2 displays on Monday 5th, the first starts at 6.30pm and the second from 8.15pm.

Along side both shows will be a funfair and food stalls to make sure everybody is entertained.

One for the Poddles

Even dogs like to dress up every once in a while and what better time then Halloween. Dogs and their owners are invited to the Halloween Dog Walk and Show on the 28th Oct, costumes are welcomed but not mandatory.

Registration begins at 11am and the walk starts at 12, the show commences at 1pm from The Spaniards Inn on the heath. Bring your wellies.

Queen on Carnaby Street

No not The Queen, Queen, as in the 80s British Band, where Lady Gaga got her name, Bohemian Rhapsody (one of my fav bands of all time), well on 21st Oct (today) at 7pm Brian May, Roger Taylor, Rami Malek and a host of others will be on Carnaby St for the official turning on of the Bohemian Rhapsody light installations to celebrate the release of the Queen movie on 24th Oct.

To attend you will need a wrist, see details below on how to get your hands on one:

– Please collect your wristband from 74 Broadwick Street (just Off Carnaby Street) on Sunday 21 October.
– Wristbands will be issued first come first served.
– Strictly only 1 wristband per person.
– Wristband collection point opens at 11am
– Please note there will be bag searches so please do not bring large bags.
– No glass or cans allowed on Carnaby Street. 
– Wristband holders need to be in the designated area by 6.45pm. Switch on begins at 7pm
– Please kindly note there will not be any musical performances at this event.

The Chuckle Brothers at the Hippodrome

I’m not going to beat around the bush with this one, The Chuckle Brothers are going to be at the Kingston Hippodrome for Freshers Week. It’s been awhile since Freshers Week applied to me, but I might buy a ticket just so I can meet the Chuckle brothers…it’s the Chuckle Brothers!!!!!!

 

 

“To me, To you”, who knew The Chuckles Brothers recording a track with Tinchy Stryder, I can’t handle this.

If you’re a real Fresher and in the Kingston Upon Thames area on the 22nd September then head over to the Hippodrome for an evening with THE CHUCKLE BROTHERS!

I can’t say it enough. I’m so pleased they’re still working the circuit, good on you fellas :0)
