Reclaimed fridges are the primary material of this temporary cinema, which has been inspired by East London’s ‘fridge mountain’ -a 20-foot-high pile of discarded fridges that once occupied the site of the London 2012 Olympic Games. With the Olympic Stadium as a backdrop, the cinema shows films with a sporting theme.
The programme is as follows:
Jul 27: ‘Rocky’ (with live orchestral accompaniment)
Jul 28: ‘Fire in Babylon
Jul 29: ‘What Have You Done Today, Mervyn Day?’
Jul 30: ‘Pelada’
Aug 4: ‘Escape to Victory’
Aug 5: ‘Breaking Away’
Aug 6: ‘Cool Runnings’
Aug 7: ‘Pumping Iron’
Aug 10: ‘East End Tales’
Aug 11: ‘Rio Breaks’
Aug 12: ‘Slapshot’
Aug 13: ‘Chariots of Fire’.
