I swear next week’s cheap list is going to be posted on time…I am so crap.

Enjoy.

  •  Comedy in the Attic – Hackney Picture House, Hackney Central

An alternative East London comedy night to see you through the rest of the week, they say laughter is the best medicine so get on down to Hackney and get your giggle on.

Address: Hackney Picturehouse 270 Mare Street, London, E8 1HE

Contact: www.picturehouses.co.uk

Cost: £5 baby!…get your tickets here, you can also pre-purchase food and drinks online at a cheaper rate.

Date: Wednesday 8th October 2014, 7.30pm – 11pm

  • Google Cardboard – Buy online, some assembly involved

Cardboard, the latest in virtual reality tech, nope I’m not kidding and neither is Google.

Once you’ve bought the kit, and after a little DIY you’re left with something that resembles a View-Master Slide Viewer from the 80’s. It has 2 lensed eye holes, a comfy nose opening and a “drawer” for your smart phone to seat in. You’ll need to download one of the available apps for the device to work effectively onto your phone first (example here), once done all you need to do is follow the instructions then experience the fun. There is also a magnetic image capture function (that sounds amazing right) so you can save and savour the memories FOREVER.

I realise I may not have made the Google Cardboard sound very appealing, so there is a video below to persuade you of it’s awesomeness.

Website: cardboard.withgoogle.com, or click here to read a review sosogay.co.uk

Cost: £20 or less from Amazon, it’s not within the usual £10-or-less category but as the next best thing for domestic use is the Oculus Rift which costs between £120-£300, £20 isn’t so bad.

Date: Available now

  • Kizomba Dance Lessons – The Pod Bar, Wimbledon

All you people who are still doing Zumba, good for you, I’m ridiculously lazy so envy all those with the will power to get up and do something, especially something that’s dancy fun. If you energetic folk would like a new challenge then how about Kizomba, a dance styled on semba, Angolan merengue and Kilapanda. The first class is free, so if you’re not convinced that Kizomba is for you then no harm no fowl.
